Welcome to Season 2 of Outside by Design! This is a great episode-- I had a chance to chat with Hillary Allen, a teacher in Neuroscience and Structural Biology who also happens to be a professional athlete on the ultrarunning team for The North Face. Hillary brings some valuable insight into achieving work-life balance and pushing her limits both mentally and physically. In an industry that is heavily guided by the pursuit of passion, there are some great takeaways for you about making time to achieve the goals that are most important to you and being a well-rounded human being outside of athletics.
We are so slammed with projects right now that the podcast is on hold.
Stay tuned for Season 2 to drop in Summer 2016!

Listen to Episode 5 of Outside by Design. Erich Peitzsch tells a few good adventure stories and talks about what Avalanche Forecasters do during the summer.
Amy Helm is a badass. She's a helicopter mechanic at Coastal Helicopters in Juneau, Alaska. She's also one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. In this podcast, Amy talks about what it's like to live in Alaska, work on helicopters, and fish next to grizzlies. The audio on this one is a little funky because Skyping from Alaska to Montana leads to weird internet connections, but Amy's content is just so good, we're publishing it anyway.
Making a podcast is fun, and easier than we expected. There are tons of ways to produce a podcast, but here's what has worked for us:
