Congratulations on your shiny new business! This is exciting news, and I'd love to help you launch this sucker into an oblivion of success! As a new business owner, you have a lot to do, but I'm here to help you with the branding and design side of your entrepreneurial endeavor.
Why you, new business owner, need a professional graphic designer:
That's right, a professional, bonafide, real-life graphic designer, not your friend's friend who illegally downloaded some design software and can probably make you something that could maybe sorta work as kinda like a logo-like "thing." You need someone who does this for a living.
You want your business to say, "WE ARE AWESOME." We are awesome, and not only do we look like we know what we are doing, we are awesome at doing it."
That's why you bring in the pros. You call us in for back-up. The goal of any good graphic designer should be to help your business succeed. Your success is my success, and my job is to show the world who and what your business is. I get to tell your story. That's the best part: I get to show the world who your business is and what makes it awesome.
Professional graphic designers are trained in all kinds of weird, nerdy things from color theory to grid behavior to typography. Every design choice is purposeful. The colors, the layout, the visual hierarchy, serif vs. sans serif lettering-- it's all meaningful and placed on a page with intention. (I call it deliberate intuition.) We like making you look good.
What you, new business owner, need to communicate to a designer:
3. YOU NEED TRUST. Working with a designer is fun. There is a certain level of back and forth. I love to collaborate with my clients. I love to listen to what you have to say. I want to help you say it through art.
I enjoy working with my clients, and I trust them to deliver the important information. They trust me to deliver the designs. It's an extremely dynamic relationship.
4. YOU NEED COMMUNICATION: If you don't like something or you develop a new idea, tell your designer. That is what we are here for.
Design is about you. It's about your business, your story.
If you've never worked with a designer before, that should get you started. Designers are usually kind, thoughtful, creative (often eccentric) people who want to help your business succeed. I work with a lot of start-ups, and I love new business owners. Generally, they are motivated and excited, and that makes the job fun for everyone.
Congratulations on starting your new business! Wheelie Creative specializes in intelligently developing your brand through story, design, and imagination. I'd love to tell your story.
