1 Theme: Creating Change and Inclusive Leadership in the Active Outdoor Industries

THE NORTH FACE CAMBER EXCHANGE

The night kicked off with casual networking between outdoor industry professionals before representatives from Camber Outdoors and VF's Employee Resource Groups kicked off the panel. Speakers José González, Founder and Director Emeritus at Latino Outdoors; Jody MacDonald, award-winning adventure photographer for National Geographic; and Kelly Cortina, VP of Global Product at The North Face, shared their experience with bias and inequity within the outdoor industry before taking audience questions.

WHEELIE captured the event from start to finish, collecting photo, video, and timelapse content to preserve the impact of the event on the outdoor industry. We then compiled videos of the panel, short features for each panelist, and a stoke reel from the event to be shared by the VF corp. These assets allowed our clients to share the impact of the event to those who could not attend and to illustrate their work toward diversity, equity, and inclusion.

When VF Corporation and its brands (The North Face, JanSport, Smartwool, Timberland, and Eagle Creek) hosted a Camber Exchange networking event during Outdoor Retailer Snow Show, they needed a plan for capturing content. We arrived, cameras in hand, to document the event with photos and videos to share throughout the VF community.

THE IMPACT

Our coverage of this event captured the courageous conversations that occurred during the panel and Q&A sessions and preserved them for the future. Over 250 people attended this event, but through video content - including full panel video, panelist snapshots, and presentations by VF's Women's Empowerment Network and ACE Diversity groups - countless others can experience the discussion around the lack of diversity found in the outdoor industry.

Collecting content at events like these ensures the progress made and words shared don't disappear when the event wraps. VF Corp was able to share these videos and photos to their internal community, as were the guest panelists who spoke at the event - ensuring the impact made at this event spread beyond the four walls of Galvanize Denver.
