It's all about the outdoors at GSI. But their social media presence didn't reflect the adventurous spirit at the core of the brand. WHEELIE to the rescue.
For three years we curated social content and orchestrated photoshoots for the GSI brand, bringing a youthful vibe to this outdoor cookware brand. We infused fun into their content while also building out their blog, story strategy, and ambassador team along the way.
Many backflips were flipped, many s'mores were consumed. And man, oh, man, did we see results. Enjoy this snapshot of our work with GSI Outdoors.
Social Media Management
We pivoted GSI's Instagram from a focus on product-only shots to a focus on people enjoying themselves outside. After all, the GSI experience is all about sharing moments together in the great outdoors, from your morning French Press to a Dutch oven dessert. We implemented consistent posting schedules (including stories) and new hashtag strategy to grow the platform.
WHEELIE took over GSI Outdoors social media from February 2017 to December 2019. During this time our team created posts for their social platforms, wrote blog articles for their website, interacted with customers online, reported social data to the GSI team, managed user generated content, and created an ambassador team.
We encouraged GSI Outdoors to take advantage of stories - they could use product tagging, the "swipe up" feature, and various engagement features to reach their audience in a new way. We used stories to create how-to product videos, share blog posts, create polls, and more... creating more consumer-brand touchpoints than ever before.
We produced 13 photoshoots for GSI - each one unique but united by a focus on fun and food. We shot by lakes, on top of mountains, deep in the backcountry, and in a treehouse. These are some of our favorite images.
