FAQ: Creative agencies do what, now?
Q: I've never worked with a designer before. What is that like?
A: We can't speak for other design firms, but we can tell you that working with Wheelie Creative is fun. Everyone, including you, gets to bring ideas and insight to the table, and we work with you individually to create the best results for your business. We pride ourselves in being approachable, attentive, and creative.
While we work with clients nationwide, we focus on working within the outdoor industry.
We, like all creative professionals, always work with a contract. If you want to work with us, we sign a work agreement outlining our deadlines and payment schedule, take a deposit, and start working. You can even pay your deposit or balance at the bottom of this page. (We try to make life easy so you have more time to run your business.)
Q: What are we going to do at the first consultation?
A: We love new business consultations! Basically, you will sit on the couch in the office and have a conversation with Lisa or Dan. They will ask you about your business, your goals, and your approach.
Q: What are you going to ask me?
A: This first consultation is a conversation about YOU. No one knows your business like you do. We are figuring out what your business is saying and how we can express that with design.
Q: Are you saying Really Creative or Wheelie Creative?
A: Wheelie Creative, because it sounds like "really" creative, and it makes you laugh. We like jokes. And you are on our website, so it worked--you remembered it. :)
Q: I'm pretty good with computers. Will you give me private lessons to teach me how to use Illustrator, Photoshop, or Indesign?
A: Nope, but in the near future, we are putting on a DIY Design and Branding Workshop series. Stay tuned for the dates!
Also, Lisa teaches a few design classes at FVCC. Her classes are really fun, so feel free to enroll.
Q: I noticed you guys are working a lot more with year-long contracts. What if I just need a logo? Or a poster? Am I out of luck?
A: Email us for a list of our current branding packages. If you just need a logo, poster, website, or something else, we are still taking on smaller projects. Contact us for a free estimate on your project.
Q: What can I bring?
A: Yourself. We supply coffee, Coldsmoke, and candy.
Q: Will you charge me?
A: Nope, the first consultation is a free thirty minute session. We both want to make sure that we are a good fit for each other, on the same page, and excited about working together to help tell your company's story.
Q: That went really well. We want to work together. What's next?
A: I'll email you a design brief with an estimate and a work agreement. If you like everything you see, sign it, get us the deposit, and we will start intelligently developing your brand with story, design, and imagination.
Q. We've already worked together. You made our logo and branding. Can I apply the cost of that to The Wheelie Local Project?
A: Maybe. If it was recent enough, we can probably work it out.
Q: I am allergic to dogs. Are there dogs in your office?
A: Yep, there is always at least one dog in our office, usually two, and they are friendly. If you're allergic to dogs, we are happy to meet you at your office or a coffee shop.
Q. I reallllly want to hire you, but I can't afford you guys. Please?
A: We'd love to help you out. We don't work for free. We do offer a complimentary email newsletter on branding that is directed at small business owners just like you. Sign up for it HERE.
Q: What's your turnaround time?
A: Our turnaround time is based on our schedule for the week, so ask, and we can give you an accurate date. We live and breathe deadlines.
Q: What's the best part about working at Wheelie Creative?
A: Tons. To name a few: Creating meaningful work and interacting with great people. Bringing dogs to work. Ski breaks. Cake breaks. Working on a rooftop patio. Flexible hours. Bike rides. Watching local businesses succeed. Constant personal growth and education. Abundant high fives. Coffee.
