A Wheelie Hilarious & Stressful Week

When you read both the words, hilarious, and stressful in the title of a post, you know you're in for a good week's story with the Wheelie Crew!

This week at Wheelie has been nothing short of crazy and non-stop busy. Mainly for Lisa as we try and prepare to move our entire Wheelie Headquarters, that we've managed to squeeze into a 200 square foot office for the past three years. A larger location is something that we've been searching and preparing for since this summer, so we are very ready to have more room to move around.
Although, we do occasionally joke about how we'll all most likely end up in one of the offices upstairs in the new spot due to the severe separation anxiety that we're all bound to feel with so much new space. Just this morning, Dan and Lisa took their ski break, and as I have a bum knee, I was all alone in the office for a couple hours, and I started to get anxious. This is ridiculous, but sometimes the people you surround yourself with help you with your creativity the most. Sure I get more work done without distractions, but sometimes those distractions give me my best ideas.

Anyway, I digress. So It's the second week in January, we're moving very very soon into a new office, and tension has been at an all-time high. Not to say in a bad way, it's just a stressful thing to move your entire headquarters. You have projects that you need to keep up with whilst you pack things up and switch everything around.

Dan has had the unfortunate task of making, like, forty-thousand phone calls to Charter and Century Link to cancel one plan and switch to another, but also having to cancel a current internet change over that has been in the works since June! It's been pretty entertaining to listen to his phone calls. I have no idea how many robots he had to converse with, but there was one day where he sat out in the lobby area of our office and just answered "NO," to the phone robot like a million times. One other day, I asked Lisa if she could go to lunch with me or something to that effect, and Dan coincidentally said "NO!" immediately after my question. The frustration in his voice was so funny, and we had a good giggle about that for a while afterwards.

Then we have Lisa writing emails back to clients, talking to a ton of different clients on the phone forever the other day (Baby Eddy was crossing his little puppy legs by the time the phone calls stopped), and she's been writing estimates and proposals like mad woman. You're crushing it, Lisa, even if it feels like you're constantly pushing a rock uphill. When you have these things to deal with, along with signing a new lease, wrangling your staff, and building your company, sometimes you just need to sit back and have a PBR. We miss your eyeballs.

We've also been on the hunt for some office furniture. With the larger space, we'll finally have a conference room in our front lobby area. A big table, and enough chairs for everyone. Craigslist seems to be our go-to for the time being, but we're slowly discovering that we may have to bite the cash bullet to get what we really want. The office is going to look so great when we're done decorating it, but the initial furniture hunt can be quite the task in itself.

2016 Winter Carnival Poster

We try to focus on work as much as possible, which is difficult with a move like this, and this week has brought us some really fun projects. We have created two posters for some really amazing events happening. Not just in Whitefish, but in McCall Idaho as well.

McCall, Idaho is having their 51st annual Winter Carnival this January, and they gave us the task of designing a futuristic poster for that event. In the end, they loved the poster so much that they gave us official membership into their Chamber of Commerce! We're pretty pumped on that and hope they have us cut a ribbon via Skype!!! :) The end poster result is colorful and fun. So for all of you McCall readers out there, the theme is Beyond Tomorrow, and you should definitely dress like Marty McFly if you plan on attending this year.

The other poster helped us bust out our chalkboard design creativity in illustrator by creating an Official Grand Opening poster for Spotted Bear Spirits! The Grand Opening starts tonight folks! Grab your friends, and come check out the newest Distillery in downtown Whitefish. The cocktails are amazing, and they're having raffles all weekend along with specials and a free cocktail with bottle purchase. Also, they're giving away FREE high-fives! What all would a person need?
Now in mentioning a couple clients above I'd also like to just give a general shout out and über big thank you to each and every one of the businesses we work with. It's no secret that we have some of the coolest clients around, and it's so wonderful of them to come to us time and time again offering their help in the move. Even if they can only help for a couple hours, we more than appreciate it, and will buy them a beer or two. It's people  like these that make our jobs so much fun. When the locals band together in Whitefish, it seems like anything is possible. This might seem cheesy to a lot of you, but the community in the Flathead Valley is a great one.

We'll keep everyone posted on our move and we do plan to have an official "Grand Re-Opening" once we're all moved in and settled. Thank you for all your support and we'll see you next week for another Wheelie__Fill in the blank__Week.

First Thursdays With Wheelie Creative + ART!

I'd  like to bring up another topic with the new office that I think some of you local artists here in the Flathead might be very interested in.

We are planning on being open for First Thursdays in Whitefish, starting in March. We'll need a little time to plan all of this, but we'd like to reach out to all the artists that have work pertaining to the outdoor industry. (We'll most likely show other work that's not related to outdoor sports and recreation, but as we are a design company that specializes in this outdoor industry, it's something to keep in mind.) Please feel free to email me if you have interest in showing your work. We'll show a new artist, or two, each quarter, and will hold a reception for the artists the first Thursday of each quarter with Wine and Snacks. And all our clients will see your work every time they come in for a meeting.

I'd like to know your Name, phone number, email address, and it'd be great to see an artist's statement explaining the work. Cohesive projects are best, and these will need to be matted, framed or both. Photographers, Painters, Sculptors, etc... and so on!

All entries are welcome.

BEHIND THE WHEEL
I can't recommend Wheelie enough. Our website launch was almost too successful, and we could barely keep up with the amount of orders we received as soon as we announced the rebrand. They are ah.MAZING!"
