by Amanda Guy - Our Designer Obviously the title of this weeks blog post relates to the fact that the much anticipated Mini-Masters tournament occurred last night in downtown Whitefish. Hopefully several of you Wheel Heads were in attendance. The theme this year was Denim on Denim, and as you can imagine, there was a lot of Denim to be seen! Of course Dan and I had to participate. Dan rocked his famous Dan hat while I wore a mock-denim shirt. Bolo-Ties a plenty and acid washed jean coats from the 80s and 90s. It was magical. Several of our clients, friends, and even my relatives were participating. Inevitably someone always gets pretty sloshed at these things. The Northern always has Plinko, and it never fails that someone takes a full swing as though they're aiming for a green 400 yards down a fairway. "No Bro, easy putt strokes win every time!" Then the ball always flies back into the crowd, everyone screams, and then laughs hysterically, because at this point they're all a little tuned up as well. However, that definitely was not me this year. This girl is on a cleanse currently. But regardless, one of the best, and most fun nights ever. The only person missing from the awesomeness was Lisa Slagle, our fearless leader. Lisa had a big day of meetings and then teaching at FVCC yesterday and headed home afterwards to work some more. That girl has drive. She not only wrote a really fun blog post, but also worked on writing some new content for one of our clients. We're proud of you Lisa! Right now as I write this, Lisa is shredding in the sunshine for a much needed Wheelie Break. If you see Lisa shredding during a work day, cut her some slack, this chick works 15 - 20 hour days sometimes. When you're running a business, play time gets away from you. But Dan thinks she headed up to the mountain to try and beat his vertical. Either way, I'm glad you got to have some shred time on a bluebird slush day! THE OFFICEIt's officially Spring. I mean I know March 20th came and went already, but it's really starting to feel like Spring out there. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and the trees have tiny little sprouts on them. This means we're getting our butts in gear and doing some yard work. Today I stepped away from my computer for an hour to get a good chunk of the back yard cleaned up. The outside of the WheelHouse is starting to look really great, and soon we'll be able to put those gardening tools and gloves to work that Lisa picked up for the office. WHEELIE PROJECTSThis week at work has been crazy busy, and on Tuesday, Lisa set aside the day to interview the best candidates for the Project Manager position. She said she had a lot of fun interviewing with our trusty hiring pal, Dawn Rauser. Stay tuned in the next couple of weeks to find out who will be joining the Wheelie Crew! In project news, we've been making a lot of really fun designs for the Glacier National Park Conservancy. It's always really fun to work with the park and make fun designs that so many people will see throughout the year. People from all over the world choose Glacier as their official vacation spot year to year and we want them to be as proud of the park as we are. Other great designs have included new drawings for The Montana Scene, sticker designs, logo and business card packages, and website design. We're pretty much blown away by the number of projects we have going right now, but it's been so fun to stay busy and work with new fun companies. Even though we're really busy, we're still finding time to play and enjoy the glorious sunny weather. In fact, Eddy and I have been taking daily walking adventures around the neighborhoods near our office. Dan has been riding his bike to work nearly every day, and Lisa has been trying to get out when she can. Soon we'll have our backyard totally set up, and we'll have a BBQ ready for grilling everyday at lunch.
We couldn't be more happy with the way things are going right now and we are super pumped for the warmer weather to bring on several new adventures. Thanks for taking the time to check out my weekly post this week and I really just want to leave you all with this. Have a fantastic weekend, get outside, and don't forget the Pond Skim is tomorrow! Happy FRIDAY!
