By Amanda Guy Well I might have the most grammatically incorrect blog post title this week, but dammit, it fits the week big time! So let me start this thing off by saying that this week has been chalk full of designs, meetings and much much more, but in all honesty, the only two things I really want to discuss this week here at Wheelie are biking, and Lisa Slagle's twin. Now you may be wondering why I want to talk about Sara Slagle so much in this week's post, and boy oh boy let me enlighten you. ![]() Let us go back in time, to roughly four months ago when Dan began his first week here at Wheelie. I sat quietly at my computer working on a few things while Lisa went over the employee manual with Dan, and at one point she mentioned her pocket sized twin, Sara Slagle. Then she mentioned Sara again, and again. Finally Dan was like, "So I'm guessing this Sara Slagle character is a relative of yours?" To which Lisa replied, "Not just any relative, my twin." I looked over at Dan and he had this "I don't believe you have a twin," look on his face, and Lisa was like, "I'm Serious! She's my minnie twin." Basically this went on for a little while and eventually Dan just said, "I'll believe you have a twin when I meet her." Queue Lisa rummaging through the office looking for every photograph possible of Sara that she had on hand. Then she proceeds to show these photos to Dan. This literally went on for months. Every time Lisa mentioned Sara Slagle, Dan would just laugh and say, "Why are you always bringing up this imaginary person that you've created? Is this a brain injury thing?" We would all laugh a lot about this. It wasn't until today that Sara Slagle became real to Dan. And I say this because Lisa's, somewhat famous to Whitefish due to some epic dancing skills, pocket twin was actually standing in our office doorway, and even before she arrived at our little HQ, her boyfriend stopped by with her 2015 Teacher's school photograph on a poster and asked us to hang it up somewhere in the office for Lisa. All I could think is that Dan was totally about to be proven wrong, and that Lisa in fact does have a twin! In the end we were super stoked to finally meet Sara in in person, as well as Lisa's brother Greg. The Slagle siblings have been brought together in Montana this week to celebrate 10 years of Scout Action tomorrow, and now that we all know for sure that Lisa really does have a twin, the joke will no longer continue on, and I felt that it was important to let the world know about our little office joke regarding Lisa and Sara Slagle. It's probably just funny to Lisa, Dan and myself, but still, worth sharing in my opinion. And now on to biking! So as most of you may be aware already, Lisa, Dan, Pete, and Stella all love mountain biking! I myself love mountain biking as well, but until this week I had to borrow and rent mountain bikes to go on any sort of trail adventure with Lisa. Typically I would just take Travis' bike from Lisa's house and use that, and again THANK YOU TRAVIS! But I digress, so last week I came to the final decision that I needed to get a bike and Glacier Cyclery had a fantastic Giant Stance bike on SALE for the Fall Sales in store. I had been thinking about this bike for the last few weeks and I finally decided to pull the trigger and get the bike. And now, I officially have a bike of my very own! I am beyond excited about this bike and am doing everything I can to ride it until the snow begins to fall. There's just something about having a new piece of sporting equipment that makes you extremely excited about life and being active/athletic. Here at Wheelie we believe our company runs on the basis of three simple words. Funny, Intelligent & Athletic. You may have read Lisa's nerd speak where she discusses assigning three words to your company, well those are ours and they could not be a better descriptor for Wheelie Creative Inc. Now that we all have our own bikes, our own snow gear, and a love of the outdoors in general, you can find us on the Whitefish Trails, up on Big Mountain, and always in the office creating wicked awesome designs and websites for the rest of you that are in love with the outdoor industry as well. Have a great Weekend everyone! Get out there and enjoy the sunshine while you pedal around.
