By Amanda Guy - Our Designer Happy Friday once again Wheel Heads! I hope you're ready for another round of my Wheelie updates this week. I have a lot to talk about as far as projects go and how the week has panned out for us here at the Wheelie HQ. From video shoots to team meetings, we've had a very fun and busy week. We've updated even more of the office and are preparing for the Spring months and mountain biking season, which has been here all along, but it's officially time to get in gear and start pedaling if you haven't started already. We're basically firing on all cylinders right now and cannot wait for the months ahead. Our week started off with a much-needed client update. We have these once a week, but we have so many projects going on right now that we needed to make extra sure we are on task with each and every client. We've been busting out websites, laying out new brand designs, and working on updates for the Whitefish Trail Maps. With biking season coming into full pedal, we are super pumped to be working with the Whitefish Legacy Partners on this project. In fact, Lisa, Dan and myself intend to hit the trails tonight. I literally cannot wait, I'm very antsy right now. Okay, let's look at where we are at with our new office space! The office is looking amazing! We're getting closer and closer to being able to throw an epic re-Grand Opening party. I think we're even planning on getting a mini keg for the event. It only seems appropriate as we do a lot of work with the different breweries in the valley. Lisa's office got the most TLC this week with a brand new bookcase and a whole forest wall mural Dan and I put up while Lisa was at a meeting. She came back and heard us upstairs giggling in her office, and she said she got super excited because she knew what was happening. She had the biggest smile on her face when she saw the mural up and now really loves going into her office. For those of you that don't know this, she used to refer to the office as her meth lab. No, we don't make meth, that's just ew! But she felt her office was just too empty and eerie. And now it's a beautiful enchanted forest with an extremely large desk! #MEGADESK The downstairs is coming together nicely, and we now have our coat rack hung, our bike rack mounted, and some awesome plans to frame in the extra doorway we don't need downstairs. It's going to look amazing! Just wait! We've been doing some research on new printing techniques and will soon be busting out artwork to hang around the conference room and design room. Again, everything is coming up Wheelie! Bluebird Pow Days & DesignSo as most of you are well aware in the Valley, the mountain got around 7 new inches of snow between Monday and Tuesday. Driving into Kalispell from my sister's house in Somers I could tell it was going to be a glorious day so I swung by my house, grabbed my board and helmet and headed off to work. When I got to the office, Lisa was arriving at the same time, and she told me I should just go shred that morning. I took my first shred break in weeks and headed up for some really fun turns. That was only one of few Powder + Blue Bird days I've experienced. Those days are rare, and I'm super pumped I have a job that allows me to take advantage from time to time. After my shred session, I headed back to the office to work on some logo designs for a new building company and then started on some fresh new designs for The Montana Scene! We are so pumped to be working with Melissa and Sean again. Heading into Spring and Summer, you'll see some new things from this husband and wife duo. I also have had the pleasure of working on a physical therapy clinic's new website. I'm very excited about this website specifically because my cousin works there in Rocklin, CA. I'm having a blast putting this site together and cannot wait to get the first draft of the site done for them. It's really fun to be able to work with family. So far Wheelie has gotten to work with my sister Ashley Wenz at Orthopedic Rehab, Jelisa at Jersey Boys Pizzeria, and my cousin Robyn in California. I love it! They get to experience what Wheelie does firsthand, and I like being able to include my family in my work from time to time. Everyone is so busy it helps us to stay in touch. This month's theme! Planning Ahead or ReflectionSince today is April 1st, I've decided to share this months theme with you for the WheelHouse.
We've decided April should be "Planning Ahead," or "Reflections." You can either figure out how you're going to plan ahead for the months to come, or you can spend time Reflecting on the last 3 months of 2016. I however think it's best to use both of these themes combined! Take time to reflect and see what needs to change for the future. Reflecting on the last three months, we've done a lot here at the WheelHouse. We've been trying really hard to get our new office in tip top shape and have had several new projects and old projects to work on all at once. We learned that moving an office is just as expensive as moving a home. Luckily, we spent a lot of time planning for the move, but still, unexpected things can occur, like our sewers backing up last week....EW! For the months ahead, we plan to bring some projects to a close, focus even more on video and design, and prepare for our Grand Re-Opening. We'll bust out our bikes as much as we possibly can and most likely eat even more pizza and sandwiches at our two favorite lunch spots. We'll continue to watch Baby Eddy grow into a man dog and share his adventures in our blog posts. Bring on the rest of 2016 because we are ready! Happy Friday everyone! Get out there this weekend and enjoy yourselves. The mountain is only open for another week, so get your shredding fixes now!
